Thanks so much for your prayer support for Orphan Helpers!

Here are some of our on-going prayer requests for the ministry:

  • For all our kids to know Christ in a real and powerful way
  • For Orphan Helpers to be led by God’s heart and His Holy Spirit
  • Wisdom for the leaders of this ministry and in all decisions
  • For additional finances needed to support ministry growth
  • For enough Bibles to give to every child or teenager who asks!

  • New in-country partnerships with The Reunion Del Senor Church of San Pedro Sula, the Northwest District, Church of the Nazarene, and The Elohim Church in El Salvador.
  • $50,000 Rotary Grant to purchase van and computers for detention centers in El Salvador.

El Salvador

  • For support and guidance of all our El Salvador Staff.
  • For God to raise up local church partnerships that will join with us in our mission.
  • For effective implementation of a $50,000 Rotary Grant sponsored by the Chesapeake, VA. Rotary club to purchase a van and equip two computer labs in detention centers in El Salvador.
  • For Oscar, our driver in El Salvador, who experienced a robbery on a public bus in November as he was going to pay Orphan Helpers bills; even though money was stolen, praise God Oscar was not harmed
     

Tegucigalpa

  • For continued emotional healing and recovery for Dora who experienced a brutal assault in October.
  • For Kathia and Dora both as they are transitioned into safer schools in January after they return from winter break.
  • For our on-going ministry partnership with the Impacto Church, who send volunteers into Casitas Kennedy on a regular basis.


San Pedro Sula

  • For our search for a new staff member at Nueva Esperanza.
  • For Pastor Hareld as he leaves Genesis, El Carmen and Orphan Helpers to pastor two congregations in the Foursquare denomination and oversee a food program for 500 children funded by Compassion International.
  • For our search for a new staff member to minister at El Carmen.
  • The Genesis boys:  Gerson as he adjusts to life in the USA;  Pablo as he lives with an Aunt and focuses on his preparation for dental college; Saul as he begins youth ministry with Pastor Gilberto and the Foursquare Church in San Pedro Sula;  and Oscar as he remains at Genesis and is waiting to be able to start technical job training at the IPC center.
  • For decisions about the future of the Genesis Center, as the govt places a group of the “best behaved” boys from the detention centers in the newly refurbished orange dorm in the Genesis Center as a temporary placement while they are renovating the Rebirth detention center.
  • For our new ministry partnership with the Northwest District of the Church of the Nazarene – for Ulises Cruz, their full-time volunteer coordinator funded by the Gaithersburg, MD Church of the Nazarene, and for a number of volunteers beginning to minister two days a week at Nueva Esperanza.
  • For our new ministry partnership with the Reunión Del Señor congregation who are starting a ministry program at Nueva every other Saturday.

Newport News, Virginia

  • For Director of Operations, Brian Allen, as he continues his recovery from surgery.
  • For wisdom and effective leadership by Mike Torrech, Board Chairman, and other Board members.
  • For the planning, effective ministry, safety and health, and blessing of all mission & vision trips going in-country now through the end of the summer.
