HARVEST OF HOPE 2007

Saturday, September 29

Wintley Phipps

"Amazing Grace" sung by Wintley Phipps

World-renowned vocalist Wintley Phipps brought down the house with his extraordinary performance at the 2007 Harvest of Hope. Mr. Phipps began the evening by performing He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands and ended with an unbelievable performance of Amazing Grace. Mr. Phipps explained to the crowd of 550 that he had sung this song for Mother Teresa right before she died.

The guests were also inspired by the testimonials of those who have invested their time and resources in Orphan Helpers this year. They were also privileged to hear the words of the former country coordinator of El Salvador, Mirna Amaya.

Harvest of Hope, which is in its third year, is Orphan Helpers major fundraising initiative. More than $170,000 was raised to help facilitate the programs in Central America. Currently Orphan Helpers is providing care to over 1200 orphaned, abused and incarcerated children housed in government-run orphanages and detention centers.
