Mujeres Adolescentes is an orphanage for the protection of girls from 13-18 years old. This center is home to 50-80 girls who have been abandoned, sexually and/or physically abused, living in extreme poverty, street wandering, neglected or malnourished. This is the first point of placement by judges, police and social workers for teenage girls in harm's way. Orphan Helpers has three female staff members in this center teaching elementary school fundamentals, supervising sports activities and assisting in the sewing and computer training centers. These women also offer to the young girls desperately needed encouragement and love.
